In these past years of work, we have cooperated with many friendly organizations. We shared good and evil times; we stuck together through thick and thin. We are glad we met them, we are glad we helped each other, and that we have achieved so much together. We will present them here, as we have known them, in alphabetical order. Click on their names to visit their websites. AAOM- Alternative Academic Education Network (AAEN)Alternative Academic Education Network is a non-governmental organization, founded in June, 1998. The Network is a non-profit educational organization. Attendance of their courses is voluntary. It was founded after the adoption of the repressive University Education Law in reaction to the annulment of autonomy on the universities in Serbia and the limitation of scientific research freedom. Network organizes regular classes, seminaries, workshops and work with mentors. The kindness of AAOM towards us is infinite - not only did they give us one of their classrooms for our computer center, they also gave us 24h a day Internet access and one of their color printers. We cooperated on the Education for Democracy project as well. It was founded in Paris in 1985. Today it gathers over 20,000 students in more than 250 university centers around Europe, including Belgrade, Niš and Novi Sad. Since AEGEE is an international organization, the principle of organizing at a national level was avoided. Members of AEGEE are local organizations, also known as antennas, on a city level, and a global organization - AEGEE Europe. Together we gathered New Year's presents for children - refugees from Kosovo. We cooperated on the Education for Democracy project that took some of our students to a year of studies in Germany and Netherlands. There are many other things we have done together, but we will not name them all. Since they were so good =) we took them in and let them use our office. You can read a little further about them here, and if you click on the title you can visit their website. more Go visit them at http://www.aegee-beograd.org.yu Anti-war campaignCivic initiativesEH21!ESIBOTPOR!Peace and crisis management foundationWhen the conflict in SFRY began in 1991, Mr. Boris Vukobrat founded the Peace and Crisis management foundation, with intent to help solve the growing problems in a peaceful way. The ideas that he based his foundation on are among those that we have been fighting for. Peaceful resolvement of the crisis, suppression of national, religious and any other form of hatred between different inhabitants of the former Yugoslavia as well as foundation and reinforcement of a democratic civic society are the goals this foundation has set for itself. Peace and crisis management foundation has given us one of its offices to use as our central office. Although the independent syndicate Nezavisnost has shown us great hospitality, their office that we have previously used was inadequate for our growing needs. For this we are deeply grateful. The open society fundFreeSerbia - Other voices from SerbiaWhen the war with (or rather, against) the NATO alliance began, there were many people that realized that they could not just sit with their hands crossed and do nothing about it. Many of these people were or still are our activists. They created the FreeSerbia website, probably the only non-subjective source of information in this part of the world. The site kept growing, and it is now one of the most visited websites in the country. Many of the "first evers" in the history of Yugoslav presence on the Internet belong to FreeSerbia. Considering that we "share" many activists, it is hard to define precisely the borders of our cooperation. Student union of Serbia is the source of Student news on FreeSerbia, to name one. FreeSerbia follows up on all major SUS activities. Hmm, some of the sentences you can read here were borrowed (without asking =) from their website. Go visit them at http://www.freeserbia.org |
