About UELThis page is about the law of university in Serbia, passed on the session of the Serbian parliament held on 22 May 1998. That day many of us were in front of the building of the parliament. We could not prevent passing this law. And why did not we want such a law to be passed? First and foremost, because it deprives the university of its essential autonomy. Secondly, because it enables and encourages incompetent people to become professors. Next, because it is against the constitution and it is in collision with the previous laws. Also, it is enforced in an illegal way. Moreover, because it has destroyed reputations of some faculties and blemished the reputation of other. Its terrible consequences can already be seen, and the situation will be worse if the law stays as it is. Furthermore, because we were beaten by the police that day even though we did not do anything to provoke them (the people who were there still remember it, unwillingly). Here, you will be able to read the whole text of this law (once we translate it). Every statement we make we will prove (just click to see the proofs and arguments). We will try to provide you with the texts of the law of university in France and Germany, because Serbian government claims that that law is based on the French and German one. You will easily be able to see the difference. |
