Friday, May 21st, 1999 Love one another for being human beings, friends, and neighborsQ: I lived in Serbia and Macedonia when I was 20 years old for a year. I found Serbians to be great people who loved their families and wanted only the best for their children. On the other hand I met many Macedonians and Albanians and they were just the same. They also were very nice people who loved their families and wanted only the best for them. Kresimir Cocic was a great friend of mine and he loved everyone in the former Yugoslavia. He didn't care which area the people were born in or which language they spoke or which relegion they belonged to. He loved them all the same. Can't we all follow his example and love one another for being human beings, friends, and neighbors? I have friends in Croatia, Dalmatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Albania, and many other places in the world. I love them all. It has to start someplace. Let it begin with us. Please? What can we say? We can only sign these words. You said exactly what we meant. A lot of us have friends among Croats, Bosnians, Macedonians, Albanians... Kresimir Cosic was a great basketball player and a Hall of Famer. Kreso Cosic was great player and he will be that if he was Serb or Albanian or Croat. We believe that every one of us is personally guilty for everything he or she did personally, and none can blame someone for what other members of his/her nation did. We don't judge people by their origin, we can say someone is "good" or "bad" person but there is no generalization that therefore whole nation is "good" or "bad". Eric from novell.com |
