Kosovo Polje, Friday, April 16th 1999 We have electricity second day in a rowPeople, you won't believe... it is exactly 9am and we have electricity. And, that's not all, this is the second day. We have seen the light in this darkness. I didn't want to write because the things could turn over. And we don't have much to be happy about. But this is something. I was going through town today and people were asking: "Did you get electricity in Kosovo Polje", but of course, we got it first. What can I say, better feelings at start, especially after the first peaceful night since the beginning; no one could believe, some of the people thought they've gone deaf of the blasts. Really, not one even near us, nobody heard a plane for the whole night. But, bad luck, they ruined such a sunny and beautiful day. I counted at least 15 attacks today, mostly far from the town and Kosovo Polje. What has been confirmed is that Magura, Goles, Slatina airfield were attacked today, as well as few locations on the southeast near Pristina. But, what is that for us, we have electricity now and I am typing on the computer and walking around. And that is something. The blackout orders are still active, the perpetrators will be punished. What is the punishment, we don't know yet, but will probably find out very soon, when the people relax too much. Judging by the schedule, we can expect the planes any minute now. We are ready.... How about you, my friends? Good luck to you all... Gagi, from Kosovo |
