The war pharse

There are many as indications that support this theory as you could only wish for. Just look at who has what to gain:

Zloba ("meany") gets the green light to exterminate the KLA, and all negative publicity that goes with that. I just read that our forces empty a village, chase out the women and the children, while the men are chased into a forest and then shot at. That's the story the refugees are telling on the CNN, anyway.

On the other hand, for the first time after a long while, we are victims too - David vs.. Goliath, protest rallies... anti-American demonstrations in our favor all over the world, and it might as well turn out that all that was said in the previous paragraph is not such a big deal anyway.

He also gets unison all around him - in the times of war, we are all together, right, and JUL has already defined all that goes under treason, and radicals have already given the public an instruction for the treatment of such (i.e. traitors). How many years will have to pass after all this (regardless of the outcome), before we hear even a whisper of the little "o" of the opposition. Ten more years of rule is all he needs.

Clinton scores points with the military industry. Having a new plain, and not having it tested in real combat is like being partially pregnant. He has also screwed in the looser members of the pact a bit, proving himself to be a "tough fellow" just as he was slandered to be a softie. He was already covered in cobwebs in some distant corner saying that something ought to be done about the humanitarian crisis in Kosovo, and it had come to a point where he actually had to go out and do something, lest he should sink in too deep in the gutter that he would not be able to get himself out of it. So he pulled the ultimatum composed by (the ultraright ^&^#$@#) Bush out of the closet and smelling of mothballs and started waiving with it.

Also, should he install his troops in Kosovo, he will acquire control over the whole "emperor's road", thus becoming able to cut off the united Europe whenever he pleases, lest the Europeans become too powerful. And he would please the Arabs and other oilmuslim countries - and that's where the money lies. And he also shows himself to be concerned with humanitarian issues (as was not the case in Ruanda and elsewhere, but never mind, their majority has the memory of a chicken, too) and scores valuable points, and the request for his recall (i.e. impeachment) sinks into oblivion. Along the way he trains his Clinton News Network to serve the story exactly at his measures, as he will need it for other occasions to come.

All are happy and satisfied. The only thing left to do is to complete this formality of dropping a few bombs at the places with required technicalities. Television, not military.

Of course, this is a mere frame - bombs are really falling, and what the deal behind all this is and between what parties, not even history will be able to tell for certain, as it was never broadcasted on the CNN or the RTS.
