Grdelica (vicinity of Leskovac)

NATO hit a civilian train, the international Belgrade - Salonica (Greece) line, in the vicinity of Leskovac on Monday, 4/12/1999.

At the press conference the NATO spokesman stated that "the train was not a target of the attack". 10 victims have been identified, including a ten year old child, but the names of another four remain unknown after four days. There are strong speculations that the number of casualties is much bigger, because 17 people are still officially missing. More than 30 passengers were wounded. All casualties were civilians.
