Workers employed at the Zastava factory in Kragujevac "protected" with their bodies the factory that was a lifeline for the whole town. 120 workers were injured by an assault on the factory.

The Zastava automobile factory directly supported more than 50% of citizens living in Kragujevac.

In one of the NATO attacks, downtown Kragujevac was demolished.
